Blum Showcases Circular Economy Leadership at interzum Boulevard with Efficient Steel Recycling and Closed Material Cycles
SHERIDAN, WYOMING – May 19, 2025 – Austrian fittings manufacturer Julius Blum GmbH has underscored its strategic commitment to sustainability and operational efficiency with an interactive, circular economy-focused exhibition at interzum Boulevard 2025. Aligned with the trade fair’s central theme, “Rethinking Resources,” Blum demonstrated how closed material cycles can deliver tangible environmental and economic benefits in B2B manufacturing.
Steel Recycling as a Strategic Sustainability Driver
Blum placed a strong emphasis on the steel cycle, the backbone of its material reuse strategy. Through a fully automated materials logistics system, the company recovers more than 47,000 tonnes of steel scrap annually. This meticulous sorting process not only supports raw material conservation but delivers significant carbon savings—equivalent to avoiding approximately 70,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
