SHERIDAN, WYOMING - November 28, 2025 - As DEKRA concludes its 100th anniversary year, the global testing, inspection and certification (TIC) organization is reporting resilient performance, mid-single digit revenue growth and a clear strategic course focused on Mobility, Digital Trust and Sustainability despite a volatile macroeconomic and geopolitical backdrop.
Resilient TIC Performance in a Challenging Environment
In 2025, DEKRA operated against a backdrop of elevated volatility, geopolitical uncertainties and weak economic conditions in several European markets. Even so, the group expects mid-single digit revenue growth for the full year and overall stable results at the level of the previous year. In the first ten months alone, revenue growth in the core TIC business stood at around 4 percent, underscoring the robustness of its service portfolio.
"2025 was a very special year for DEKRA - we honored our 100th anniversary. Only few companies reach such a milestone, and we are incredibly proud of this achievement," says Stan Zurkiewicz, CEO and Chairman of the Management Board of DEKRA. "At the same time, this year confronted us with economic and geopolitical challenges. But our strong foundation stands. We stayed on course, focused on what matters, and delivered reliably. For this, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the entire DEKRA team."
Global Vehicle Inspection and TIC as Pillars of Trust
DEKRA's global TIC business remained robust throughout the year, with vehicle inspection continuing to play a central role. With more than 32 million inspections carried out worldwide each year, this business line consolidates DEKRA's position as the global number one in vehicle inspection and acts as a visible symbol of safety and reliability in everyday life.
Beyond vehicle inspection, demand for services related to sustainability and digital security developed positively, supported by continuous expansion of the service portfolio and strong customer partnerships. This positions DEKRA as a key player for businesses navigating regulatory requirements, cybersecurity risks and the broader transformation of mobility and energy systems.
Targeted Investments in Future Test Infrastructure
Despite challenging economic conditions, DEKRA has maintained a high investment tempo in modern testing and certification facilities, treating capex as a core element of its long-term future security. Between 2022 and 2024, the company invested around EUR 140 million annually, rising to around EUR 150 million in 2025. These funds support:
- Modern infrastructure and advanced test systems.
- Expanded testing and inspection capacities in key growth areas.
- New facilities for emerging technologies and use cases.
A particular focus has been the expansion of DEKRA Lausitzring, now one of the leading test environments for automated and connected driving. In the anniversary year, the company opened its new Battery Test Center at the site, bringing together all relevant types of battery testing under one roof for the first time. In parallel, new 5G and WiFi testing facilities have been established in Asia and Europe, and the photovoltaic laboratory has been expanded.
Looking ahead, DEKRA plans to continue investing around EUR 150 million annually in targeted, future-oriented areas. "All our investments follow a clear guiding principle: we focus on impact, not scope. We invest where we can reinforce DEKRA's long-term strength and secure our future," explains DEKRA CFO Wolfgang Linsenmaier.
People and Skills as Drivers of Growth
These investments are designed to support growth in strategic business fields, and that growth depends on qualified and committed people. In DEKRA's home market of Germany alone, around 560 new employees were hired in 2025. At present, more than 750 positions are open, particularly in technical and inspection-related roles, reflecting the company's ambition to expand further in its core geography, where it is already the largest player.
The increase in new vehicle inspection engineers, international cooperation across more than 60 countries and strong team spirit across the organization underpin DEKRA's operating resilience. "Our employees are the foundation of our success, and we keep growing," emphasizes Wolfgang Linsenmaier. "This anniversary year has shown once again how competently, pragmatically, and responsibly our teams act across the globe."
Climate Impact and Social Responsibility Beyond the Core Business
DEKRA has also sharpened its focus on social responsibility and sustainability. Through the newly initiated DEKRA Climate Impact program, the organization is working with UNICEF, WWF and NABU to generate tangible environmental and social benefits. Through its partnership with UNICEF, more than 860,000 children and their families in regions most impacted by climate change will gain access to clean water in the coming years.
"Our anniversary motto 'Securing the Future' does not only mean making technologies safe," stresses CEO Stan Zurkiewicz. "Safety is a societal value that concerns us all. As a company, we aim to make positive impact on the world around us that goes beyond our daily business - to take responsibility for people today and for the generations of tomorrow."
Strategy 2030+: From Anniversary Milestone to Future Growth
Looking ahead, DEKRA considers itself solidly positioned. Business planning forecasts mid-single digit revenue growth for the full year 2025, with Strategy 2030+ set to drive targeted growth impulses from 2026 onward across three strategic business fields: Mobility, Digital Trust and Sustainability.
In Mobility, DEKRA is expanding services for electric and automated vehicles. Through its Digital Trust Services, the company is integrating testing procedures for functional safety, cybersecurity and AI validation into a unified value proposition. The Sustainability business field continues to grow in tandem with the energy transition, covering wind and solar power, hydrogen and battery systems. These priorities are supported by ongoing workforce development, new international partnerships and infrastructure modernization.
"2025 was a year in which DEKRA, once again, demonstrated its resilience and strength," summarizes Stan Zurkiewicz. "We have laid the foundation for setting the right impulses in the coming years. We can only contribute to a safe future for business and society if we shape our own future in a reliable way. Our anniversary was an opportunity to honor our 100-year success story and at the same time a starting point for the next century of success and impact: We are securing the future - consciously, responsibly, and with a strong team."
