Sidel's Parma Plant Embraces Renewable Energy with Major Solar Installation
Sheridan, Wyoming – June 21, 2024 – Sidel, a global leader in packaging solutions, today announced the successful implementation of a large-scale photovoltaic system at its manufacturing facility in Parma, Italy. This significant investment in renewable energy infrastructure underscores Sidel's ongoing commitment to sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint.
The newly operational solar array, one of the largest corporate installations in the Emilia-Romagna region, is projected to generate 2,900 MWh of electricity annually, enough to satisfy 40% of the plant's energy needs. This is equivalent to the annual consumption of over 1,000 households in Parma, significantly reducing the plant's reliance on traditional energy sources and contributing to a substantial decrease in CO2 emissions—an estimated 871 tons per year.
