German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Supports Regional Trade Fairs in Mexico, Turkey, and Thailand

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – October 8, 2024 – The German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) will continue its support of German companies in 2025 by facilitating their participation in regional trade fairs for the wire, cable, and pipe industries in Mexico, Turkey, and Thailand.

In cooperation with the VDKM (Association of Wire and Cable Machine Manufacturers), the BMWK will support German companies exhibiting at the following regional trade fairs:

  • wire & Tube Mexico: February 11-13, 2025
  • wire & Tube Eurasia: April 9-12, 2025
  • wire & Tube, GIFA, METEC Southeast Asia: September 17-19, 2025

Ricoh Study: German Companies Eager to Automate Processes, But Fear of Disruption Holds Them Back

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – October 8, 2024 – A new study by Ricoh Europe reveals that while there is a strong desire among German businesses to implement process automation, concerns about potential disruptions to critical operations are hindering progress.

The study, conducted by Opinion Matters on behalf of Ricoh Europe, surveyed 1,000 employees and 300 decision-makers across Germany. It found that more than a third of employees (34%) lack access to process automation technologies despite expressing a keen interest in utilizing them.

"In a time where employee motivation is waning, process automation technologies can play a key role in giving employees a sense of purpose," says Nicola Downing, CEO of Ricoh Europe. "With process automation software, they have to spend less time on monotonous tasks and can concentrate on more rewarding and creative activities."

The previous soft and hard PU rings, which HEIDELBERG offered on the market under the 'Extra Grip' brand, are now only used at the express request of customers and the number of requests is dropping ever lower. Until now, print shops and postpress companies have had to choose between soft PU and hard PU when investing in a folding machine or replacing folding rollers. The substrates to be processed and their surface structure determined whether the softer, more elastic material or the harder alternative was the best choice.
